Rebecca A. Whitlow, AIA, NCARB, LEED Green Associate  

President, Architect

Rebecca Whitlow, founder and owner of Revolutionary Architecture (REVO), is a licensed architect in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. She is a Muscle Shoals, Alabama native, and resides in Birmingham, Alabama. Her passion to draw and paint inspired her career pursuit of creating in a spatial and structural sense.

Education

Rebecca received dual degrees from Auburn University's College of Architecture Design & Construction - Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Interior Architecture.  Studying abroad in Rome, Italy and participating in Auburn University's Urban Studio program enriched her educational experience.  Through Urban Studio, Rebecca and her colleagues played an instrumental role in the revitalization, development, and growth of downtown Birmingham, Alabama.  Some of these community planning developments include Railroad Park and the Lakeview District's mixed-use hub.

Experience

Rebecca has completed residential, commercial, industrial, retail, corporate, institutional, healthcare, restaurant, and educational projects.  She also has experience in community planning.  Rebecca's role as an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Subject Matter Expert demonstrates her expertise in accessible design. Rebecca brings an interesting perspective as she has served in a global corporate client role.  She takes special interest in client needs, schedule, budget, and attention to detail.

Community Involvement

Rebecca serves on the Executive Committee of the American Institute of Architects as Secretary for the Birmingham, Alabama chapter. Rebecca supports the Alabama Center for Architecture, and contributes to educational programs such as dreamARCHITECTURE. Rebecca supports the art community by serving on the Magic City Art Connection Advisory Committee. Rebecca enjoys involvement in her local church, spending time with family and friends, golfing, and Auburn football.
